Sooke Spirit Festival Photo Contest (submit pics up to Dec.23/09)

Season 2009 Photo Contest:
Submit photos that you take during the Sat. Dec. 5 Sooke Spirit Festival
event (with caption). Winning photos will be posted within MapleLineMagazine.com
and will also be made available to the Sooke Harbour Chamber of Commerce
for future promotions of their festival events.
Deadline is Dec.23, 2009. Submit jpeg images to: contest@maplelinemagazine.com
Two prize winners will be chosen. All photos must be of good publication quality, show a positive or interesting aspect of the event, and provide an informative/interesting caption. Decisions of the judges are final.
Two prize winners will be announced on this website: 1st prize $25 gift certificate from The Edge Restaurant and 2nd prize $20 gift certificate from The Stick Coffee House.

CAT Photo Contest (closed Oct.31/09)
Fall Photo Contest:
Photos of cat(s) with an interesting caption. Winners chosen at random.
Photos must be of good publication quality, show a positive
or interesting aspect of the cat(s), and provide an
informative/interesting caption. Decisions of the judges are final.
Top prize winner: Gail Nash, for her photo of Cali, a 2-year-old curious cat, with the caption "Harry Potter is the cat's meow." Gail wins a Cat Companion Visit (value $20) from Walk, Sit and Stay in Sooke, BC.

Mission Statement
MapleLine seeks to inform, educate, and promote open conversation about economic, social, educational and health care issues in Sooke, and to foster Sooke's role as a vibrant community within the Greater Victoria area and southern Vancouver Island region.
The print magazine seeks to facilitate the resolution of contentious issues by providing information and insight. We aim to think outside the box. Our quarterly schedule allows us to dig deeper toward fostering a greater understanding of interesting and stubborn issues.
Our online web-content mission is to be a "living-Web", an expansion of the themes established by the print version each issue. Online articles and features will be updated regularly, with links and content that serve our readers and support our advertisers. The blog provides an opportunity for reader input.
