The District of Sooke's new Municipal Engineer is Elisabeth Nelson, appointed by Council at its September 14, 2009 meeting. 

The District of Sooke approved in principle a partnering agreement with Prestige Sooke Holdings Ltd. for a  400-room hotel project, at the Sept.14 District of Sooke Council meeting.  Read more.

Sooke Spirit Festival is a community-wide event being organized by the Sooke Harbour Chamber of Commerce for Dec.5, to boost interest in Sooke as a holiday season tourist destination.  Read more.
