 MAE LINELL

Mae Linell, 1920-2008

Mae Linell.  Photo submitted by the Linell family.

This profile is to honour Mae Linell (aka Mother Mae) who was a shining example of how to live a full productive life. Her priorities were family, cubs, and community. She was always cheerful, honest, fair and respectful giving beyond the call of duty. She encouraged all of us to do our best as she led by example.

Her cubs are grown up with families of their own and no doubt her influence is being carried on by them.

Mae often said about volunteering "Anyone can work with anyone for a day" referring to All Sooke Day and "Just do it!" came out when necessary. She knew that to feed the workers was to keep them happy and in turn they were willing to keep helping.

It is a privilege to have worked with Mae as a friend and mentor. As a true Scout she lived the promise of service to others.
